ABSTRACT
{ITA} La nuova frontiera della contraccezione è la personalizzazione terapeutica. Il medico di oggi deve mettere alla base del suo counselling contraccettivo la corretta informazione e guidare e supportare la scelta contraccettiva della donna. L’assenza o la mancata cura di questo aspetto determina una scarsa aderenza alle terapie che vengono prescritte a lungo termine. In questa review analizziamo le diverse problematiche che bisogna affrontare e come conviene muoversi quando ci si accinge alla prescrizione dei tanti contraccettivi reversibili short-acting e long-acting che oggi abbiamo a disposizione, sia nella donna che richiede solo un pratico contraccettivo per la pianificazione familiare, sia nella paziente che si aspetta anche di poter migliorare alcune comuni patologie dell’età riproduttiva (come cicli mestruali abbondati, dismenorrea, fibromatosi, adenomiosi, endometriosi, segni di iperandrogenismo/ovaio policistico, sindrome premestruale).

{ENG} The new frontier of contraception is therapeutic customization. Nowadays, physicians must put correct informations at the basis of the contraceptive counseling and guide and support the woman’s contraceptive choice. The absence or lack of care of this issue results in poor adherence to the drugs/systems that are prescribed in the long term. In this review, we evaluate the different problems that need to be faced and how it is convenient to move when prescribing the many short-acting (SARCs) and long-acting (LARCs) reversible contraceptives that we have available today, both in women who only require a convenient contraceptive method for family planning, both in the patient who also expects an improvement for common diseases of reproductive life (such as heavy menstrual bleeings, dysmenorrhea, leiomyomas, adenomyosis, endometriosis, signs of hyperandrogenism / polycystic ovary syndrome, premenstrual syndrome).
